Question by Shawna: I need some fundrasing ideas for cheerleading uniforms for my team. Can anyone help?
My cheerleading team is wearing the same uniforms I wore when I went to the school….10 years ago and they were old then. We are a middle school team so we don’t have a budget. Its also a catholic school so any fundraising has to be appropriate for 5th to 8th graders (i.e. no car wash). They desperately need new uniforms can anyone think of anything to help me?

your team should hold a cute, short, talent show at your school
make it like $ 5 – $ 10??
it would be to save money for your uniforms,
and you should all cooperate to do different acts and such
just talk to your principal about it,
i’m sure it would help earn a lot of money (:

Why are they wearing green yellow with stars if they flag colors are red white and blue??
sorry typing error that should say green and yellow with green STARS not “stairs” uniforms?
many of you keep saying it’s the countries colors can you show me proof?

new zealands flag ia red whit and blue but they wear black and white

Question by LifeIsGrand: Differences in male and female gymnast uniforms. Does it seem sexist?
In gymnastics boys and men wear tank tops and shorts (sometimes even pants during competition) but girls are required in many gymnastic schools to wear a leotard only during competition. During practice they can wear shorts over it to cover their butt and crotch better (and most gymnasts practice that way) but they don’t get that option when they compete.

In International Gymnastics the leotard rules have recently changed to allow female gymnasts to wear bike shorts over it but many of the gymnastics schools for kids still won’t allow shorts. If they wear leotards during competition and pull out a wedgie then they will get a deduction of points. So they will just to moon everybody I guess. And splits can get even more revealing.

According to this poll 77 out of 80 gymnasts and former gymnasts feel that girls should have the right to wear shorts during competition.

Do you think that it’s sexist that young girls are required to wear leotard during competition but boys get to wear clothing that they will comfortable in. There’s never been any controversy over male uniforms in competition.

That’s pretty interesting, I’ve never heard of that before. Since I’m not a gymnast I had no idea leotards were that uncomfortable. Although it’s great that international competition rules have changed, they should probably change it everywhere else as well because after what you’ve told me the leotard doesn’t seem anything more than vanity and tradition.

They should let girls wear whatever will allow them to perform well in competition.

EDIT: Cassius Dio’s answer is ironic, because it’s a well known fact that though men are physically stronger than women, women are much more flexible than men are. Gymnastics is one sport in which men would not have the upper hand.

Question by slappy10_pac: What do cheerleaders and/or gymnasts wear under their uniforms?
Do they wear thongs? Do any go without panties?
I know that they wear bloomers or spankies. The question is what do they wear under those? I think it would feel weird to wear a regular pair of panties under what is basically a tight fitting pair of panties.

Question by Brieanne: Are cheerleading uniforms as much fun to sleep in as they are to wear?
I’m a varsity cheerleader in high school. My sole purpose for wanting to be a cheerleader is to wear the cute outfit and get attention from boys. My definition of “competitive cheerleading” is competing with a bunch of other girls in my school (both cheerleaders and non-cheerleaders) for attention from certain guys. Those uniforms are SO much fun to wear!!

I’m thinking about sleeping in my cheerleading uniform (wearing it to bed instead of pajamas). Do you think that would be fun to do?

go for it. Being a boy, ive never worn a cheerleading uniform, but if its as comfortable as people say it is, I would absolutely try wearing it to sleep. Im not gay either, if thats weird, I dont care haha
